Why has there been CRAZY traffic on the Garden State Parkway North in New Jersey every morning??

In the last few weeks, the traffic on the Garden State parkway North bound in New jersey has been horrendous! Anyone have an idea why it has suddenly become so much worse??

Why has there been CRAZY traffic on the Garden State Parkway North in New Jersey every morning??
because there are so many people going to work in the morning and school has started with more teachers on the road. Why do you ask such stupid questions?

If you have lived in the tri-state area, you would know the raods are always congested especially during rush hour and that traffic can last all day and it is part of dealing with living in the area. That is why it is a stupid question. Just leave home earlier or take mass transit.

Just going on general sound, you'd probably like a lot of soft indie rock- Death Cab for Cutie is a good choice, check out the rest of The Shins music, The Decemberists, Modest Mouse, The Arcade Fire, Belle and Sebastian, Spoon, Bright Eyes, The Fray, Bloc Party, Snow Patrol, Radiohead, Oasis, Keane, The Killers...quite a few more, but that'll get you started.
Reply:Well that's rediculous. He just copied and pasted what I spent time writing out, and he gets best answer? Glad you liked my suggestions, anyway. Report Abuse

Reply:If you want to go with the bands that are on it, you have Coldplay, The Shins, Colin Hay, The Cary Brothers, Remy Zero, Zero 7, Nick Drake, Thievery Corporation, Simon %26amp; Garfunkel, Iron %26amp; Wine, Frou Frou, and Bonnie Somerville.

When to plant a garden in the state of Florida. tomatoes/green beans/potatoes, what ever grows good?
Where are you in Florida that you have good black dirt? I didn't think that existed here.....

It depends on your region of Florida. Your county cooperative extension office probably has a web site that will give you information...as does the University of Florida - web site is below.

I'm in West Central Florida...I have to do raised gardening because the soil is awful. I can plant tomatoes now, and any "cold weather" plant. I'll be putting in cauliflower, broccoli, lettuces, green beans, peas, tomatoes and cucumbers this month.

I may need to cover the more fragile plants in December or January a few nights.
Reply:The weather in Florida changes from year to year. So if you want to grow these vegetables wait until Spring weather has officially started then you can start growing your vegetables. Between March-August even late September if it is not chilly you can grow those vegetables. During these months you will have the warm weather, rain, and sunlight needed to maintain a healthy garden. Fla has been experiencing droughts so I hope you have a sprinkler system or hose. If you want more advice go to Home Depot garden dept they have starter planter pots for vegetables and watch PBS for the healthy gardener. This man gives advice on how to protect your vegetable garden without using chemicals but concoctions of natural homemade remedies. I hope this info helps.

2-3 Plant peas, beans, tomatoes, peppers and other above ground crops in southern Florida, California and Texas. Extra good for leafy vegetables. Plant seedbeds....cont...in link below

Planning a route via Garden State Parkway?

This one is for NJers. Sorry, I'm not familiar with the area. If I'm going from Somerville to Union and trying to find a happy balance between speed and spending less money on tolls, is it better to take 22, 287S %26gt; Parkway, or 287N %26gt; 78 %26gt; Parkway?

I-287 to I-78 to Exit 49A to 619 South - no Parkway, no tolls.

What are some quotes from Garden State?

i mean profound ones, but if you want to put funny ones in thats fine.

What are some quotes from Garden State?
Andrew: You'll see when you move out it just sort of happens one day one day and it's just gone. And you can never get it back. It's like you get homesick for a place that doesn't exist. I mean it's like this rite of passage, you know. You won't have this feeling again until you create a new idea of home for yourself, you know, for your kids, for the family you start, it's like a cycle or something. I miss the idea of it. Maybe that's all family really is. A group of people who miss the same imaginary place.

--------------------------------------...

Sam: This is your one opportunity to do something that no one has ever done before and that no one will copy throughout human existence. And if nothing else, you will be remembered as the one guy who ever did this. This one thing.
Reply:New Jersey is the only state where every highway, no matter how broad and promising are the beginings, always ends up being a narrow, two laned roadway.
Reply:Andrew Largeman: You know, this necklace makes me think of this totally random memory of my mother. I was a little kid, and I was crying for one reason or another. And she was cradling me, rocking me back and forth, and I can just remember the silver balls rolling around. And there was like snot running down my nose. And she offered me her sleeve and told me to blow my nose into it. And I can remember, even as a little kid, thinking to myself, this is love... this is love.

Sam: If you can't laugh at yourself, life's gonna seem a whole lot longer than you like.

Andrew Largeman: This is my life, Dad, this is it. I spent 26 years waiting for something else to start, so, no, I don't think it's too much to take on, because it's everything there is. I see now it's all of it. You and I are gonna be OK, you know that, right? We may not be as happy as you always dreamed we would be, but for the first time let's just allow ourselves to be whatever it is we are and that will be better. OK? I think that will be better.

Here is a link to Ural Motorcycles. At the end of WW2 the Russians took manufacturing equipment and supplies from Germany back to Russia. Some it included BMW motorcycle technology from the bikes used by the German Army. Those basic patterns Russians used have not changed much over the years. Today they are Ural Motorcycles.

Does any body know how to get the garden state PWY w/o having to go over the GWB?

I live in CT and want to go to the jersy shore for the weekend but I hate having to go over the George Washington Bridge. Isn't thier a way I can take route 15 to the garden state instead of I-95? or any other way that will allow me not to have to go over the GWB. Any suggestions will be greatly App.

Does any body know how to get the garden state PWY w/o having to go over the GWB?
Connecticut to the Tapanzee Bridge (spelling).

The continue south on the roads in NY to the exit for the Garden State Parkway.

Then it is south to your beach town.

May be a longer drive, but you can avoid the Washington Bridge Traffic this way.
Reply:You got plenty of options:

- Tappan Zee (go through the Cross-Westchester Expressway when coming down from Connecticut).

- GWB.

- Lincoln Tunnel (will require going through NYC streets, which can be troublesome).

- Holland Tunnel (will also require going through NYC streets).

- Go into Queens first (Triborough, Whitestone or Throgs Neck bridge), then into Staten Island via the Verrazano Bridge, then into New Joisey via the Goethals or Outerbridge Crossing. Can get expensive though with the bridge tolls.

Look up those routes on Google map.

Hope this helps, and have a pleasant trip.

I'm coming up on the turnpike. I was thinking of taking the exit for the Garden State Parkway and avoiding the Bronx, but how do I get back to 95 north from the parkway?

How do I get back on I-95 from the Garden State Parkway?
Take the Parkway north into New York and get on the New York State Thruway headed toward New York City. After you cross the Tappan Zee Bridge take I-287 East. It will reconnect with I-95 just south of the Connecticut state line.

Garden State?

I just watched the movie Garden State and I'm kind of confused on the reasoning behind the day where they went to that huge canyon and met with the guy in the house that looked like a boat? Can anyone clarify it for me?

Garden State?
The guy that worked at the Cemetery had stolen his Moms jewelry and sold it...

To understand that he was sorry the guy from the cemetery knew someone that could get it back from who he sold it to....

The location was a rock quary that Zach hung out when he was younger and thought it was a cool place to be in any movie... Only cost 1000 dollars to shoot there as a loction... Help keep the cost down...
Reply:The guy in the boat trades in antique jewelry. He had obtained the necklace that used to belong to Large's mom. The whole day involved taking the necessary steps, scavenger hunt style, to get the necklace back to Large.

The "infinite abyss" is a metafor. How you interpret that metafor is different for everyone. But basically at that point is when Large realizes what the next step of his life is going to be.

I love this movie. It changed my life.
Reply:it is confusing at points
Reply:Ahhh...yes, the confusing part. It's because they were looking for illegal fireworks and they knew that the trolls in the quarry had really cool ones that would look like Andy Warhol images when they exploded so they went down there to try to reason with the trolls. Trolls often stockpile the fireworks and don't let just anyone buy them. Besides, they slobber a lot...

Did you really not get the fact that the grave digger friend stole Zach's mothers necklace and then felt bad about doing it and tried to get it back...the people in the quarry found it for him... Basicaly, that is the deal... Try watching it again...it's pretty neat when you figure it out...
