What is the best way to get from Mahattan to Holmden NJ as a tourist without a car?
Port Authority of NY and NJ web site and drop down to PABT and bus scheudles.
They have buses to the concert site.
Do not know the carrier right now. But in the web site.
Could be Academy, coach or NJ Transit.

Do they use union laborers to build houses in your state?
It seems like housing will be a lot more expensive if they use union laborers to build them. How come some states use only union labor and others use most likely undocumented workers? There is a big difference in pay scale and therefore a big difference in the cost to build. Do you have any state laws that require workers to be trained, licensed or union? This is a hard question to find a category for. Home and garden seemed the closest.

There are union workers in Louisiana, but there are now laws that require it. The contractor is licensed, but the laborers are just minimum wage employees. I know because I used to do that!

It also depends on whether your state is a "right to work state" or not. That makes a big difference on who can be hired to work on your house.

What is the film technique where you see a person while things around it are moving fast?
How would I be able to do something like this (equipment, programs, camera)? Some examples are in Garden State, some Scrubs episodes, and Accepted. To elaborate, a main character is standing in the middle of a busy street and everyone passing by moves very fast while the character remains at normal speed.

In the video switcher, they would have all the graphics that would appear over anything that was that color. You would not see it in the studio as the weather person pointed to places on the map. They would watch a monitor and move their hand to different places. In movies and most video such as a dude standing with a crowd moving by. We used Untramax where backgrounds are pool chalk blue. Another running video of crowds and traffic, cliff shots and scenec backgrounds are added to the mix

How much of a fine do you get when hitting a highway guard rail?
I was involved in an accident in which i spun out of control and hit the side of a guard rail. The damage was very slight but i was charged 700 dollars for the damages. I'm wondering if there was a fixed amount for hitting a guard rail. This happened in new jersey on the garden state parkway.

Reply:The FINE is little more than a speeding ticket. The REAL expense is repairing the guardrail. I once had an officer flat out admit the ONLY reason I was given a ticket was because the city could not bill my insurance without the citation. Report Abuse

When I was growing up in Bayonne NJ during the 60s you could call down to the liqour store, order anything and they'd show up at your door with the stuff. As long as you had the $$$ they'd give it to you regardless of your apparent age. "Mom's in the shower but she said to just leave here," was a favorite ploy. Bottom line: can you still call in the order for booze on delivery in the Garden State?
