What's the difference between a state's motto, state's slogan, and state's nickname?

For example, New Jersey's motto is "Liberty and Prosperity."

Its slogan is "Come see for yourself."

and its nickname is "Garden State."

What's the difference between a state's motto, state's slogan, and state's nickname?
State motto: this is like their goal, mission, aim.

State slogan: this is a saying that tells good, positive things about the state.

Nickname: it's a fun name that people can use to refer to it and usually says something (a feature of characteristic) that the state has.
Reply:A motto is what you stand for. (New Jersey stands for 'Liberty and Prosperity')

A slogan is what you want people to think of whenever they hear your name mentioned (Let's go visit!). This can change as the need changes or a state can have more than one slogan. The point is to attract visitors.

A nickname is just that, how you want your friends to call you. (Garden State)
