Whats the each american state known for!?

im from australia just curious, like i think winconsin is the dairy state and new jersy is the garden state right what about the others.

Whats the each american state known for!?
Aargh! There are so many I don't remember them all. Here's a couple. I'll add more if I think of them.





California - Golden State


Nevada - Silver State


Missouri - Show Me State

Funny but most Americans don't think much about it - at least not outside of our state. Our tourist boards really like the nicknames though! I really should have remembered some of them though.

Minnesota--For lakes


Mississippi--For having a funny name


Nevada--For having Las Vegas


New York--For having New York City


Oklahoma--For being shaped like a hand


Rhode Island--For being the smallest state


Tennessee--For country music


Texas--For cowboys, et cetera

Reply:Last Guy should get best answer, but since I grew up in Michigan and I need to two points for going on the stupid website, I will tell you that Michigan is the Great Lake State.
